Margaret Trainor, Esq.
Founder, Like Minded People
Margaret earned a Bachelor’s in Anthropology from Stony Brook University and began her career as a field archaeologist — before spending 25 years serving vulnerable communities with the American Red Cross, the Brighter Tomorrows Domestic Violence Shelter, and the New York State Supreme Court in Suffolk County.
After earning a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Juris Doctor from Touro Law School, she practiced family and children’s law with the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society, then opened her own firm, Margaret Trainor, Esq. P.C. In July 2026 she was named Pro Bono Lawyer of the Month by the Suffolk County Bar. She built Like Minded People to be the room she always wished existed — where each person’s inherent worth is valued, and their gifts become a career built alongside others.
